How to register?
Sign up to become our customer and we will make the application on
your behalf.
How long will it take to get my domain name?
Although we can create your storage space (your working Asia Online
Virtual Domain Account) within 24 hours (or 48 hours if too busy)
we have no control over HKNIC or InterNIC, the domain name registration
organizations that process your request. Nevertheless, the entire
process usually takes no longer than 7 working days.
Any restriction on name application?
You need to have a registered organization (for example a company)
if you are going to get a local name (.com.hk, .net.hk, .gov.hk,
.edu.hk &.org.hk). Also, each organization is allowed only one
name.
If you are an individual,
consider getting an international name (.com, .net & .org) or
use our subdomain hosting.
How can I pay for my domain registration?
HKNIC or InterNIC will contact you directly on how to pay for your
registration fee.
Can I transfer my domain from another ISP?
Yes. Simply sign up as our customer and we will make the transfer
arrangements. Remember to choose the "transfer domain"
option during the registration.
- Transferring a
local name (.hk). HKNIC will charge HK$200 for the transfer
which will normally take 10 working days.
- Transferring an international
name (.com., .net or .org). The transfer is free of charge.
You will receive an e-mail asking you to acknowledge the change.
The transfer will take 2 to 3 working days with your prompt reply.
How to change the ownership of a domain?
The "domain ownership" is the organization registering
the domain name, not the administrative, technical or billing contacts.
Changing the ownership of a domain name involves tedious
administrative work. Please find the below information:
For a .hk domain:
1) The change involves removing
the domain name first and registering it again using a new organization
identity.
2) Please submit us the relevant certificate (for example a Business
Registration Certificate for a .com.hk name) which is required
for the new registration.
3) HKNIC will charge HK$200 for the new application which you
should settle with them directly. In other words this is not included
in our service charge.
4) The change will take approximately 2 weeks to complete.
For .com, .net and .org domain
(Only apply to Network Solutions
domains. We are currently not offering registrant name change service
to domains applied through other organizations)
1) The current owner (registrant)
is required to sign an agreement before a notary public for change
of domain ownership. Such service offered by the US Consulate
is charged at US$55 per notarial, and is excluded from our service
fee.
2) This change will take approximately 2 months to complete.
